Rachel Weisz Doesn’t Want Son to Act
Dec
26
2009

Rachel Weisz hopes her young son doesn’t want to follow in his famous mother’s footsteps — because she wants him to have a normal career away from the spotlight.

The Mummy star — who raises Henry, 3, with fiance Darren Aronofsky — says her little boy caught the acting bug after seeing Weisz performing on the London stage, where she was starring in A Streetcar Named Desire.

“His dad brought him in after a matinee to watch the curtain call and he figured out bowing and getting claps,” Rachel said. “So, yesterday, he put on his policeman’s outfit and bowed. That was the show.

“I hope he’s not an actor — I’d dissuade him as hard as I could.”

Rachel, 39, recently revealed that Henry has already developed a taste for breasts.

“He’s really into firemen — and women’s breasts,” she said. “He just talks about them all the time. It’s very sweet, he thinks that I have the biggest breasts in the world.

“That’s a son’s idolatry of his mother, that I’m the biggest and the best.

“He does talk about it in public but he hasn’t actually yet embarrassed me in public. I’m sure that’s yet to come.”

Rachel Weisz: “Oscar Win Was Bizarre”
Dec
14
2009

Rachel Weisz struggles to remember the moment she won a prestigious Academy Award in 2006 – because she was so heavily pregnant it was like an “out of body” experience.

The Mummy star was expecting son Henry when she was handed the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in The Constant Gardener.

Weisz admits the ceremony was extremely surreal – and confesses she can barely recall her winning moment.

She says, “My son was born in 2006, so it must have been then. It was bizarre, because I was seven months pregnant, so the whole experience was bonkers. (Winning is) surreal, it’s as if it isn’t really happening to you… it’s very out of body. Anyway, it takes a while for it to sink in. Ask me (what it was like) in another decade.”
