Actually I already updated today but while browsing the internet I found a brand new magazine issue which features Rachel on the cover. Rachel Weisz talks to HL’s Charles Runnette about fashion, her fiance and being funny.

A taller, super-chic version of Rachel Weisz walks into Cafe Mogador on St. Mark’s Place just a few minutes before I am meant to meet the shorter and more bookishly understated Rachel for lunch. Odd coincidence, I think while admiring her sexy doppelganger’s outfit (big dark sunglasses, simple denim dress, Longchamp handbag, straw hat, and the show stopper: a kick-ass pair of greenish, silvery pumps by Marc Jacobs). Then I realize as the Audrey Hepburn-ish dame at the entryway scans the room for the third time, pursing her lips with that.
“I’m a damn celebrity looking to be recognized by the twit who’s interviewing me” that it’s actually Rachel.

I leap to my feet and gesture – probably too eagerly – for her to join me at the back of her favorite East Village haunt. Toned, glowing, and totally put together, the real, truly gorgeous Rachel Weisz (pronounced like “vice”) makes her way to my table, flashing a sweet, warm, yet somewhat mocking smile. She had clocked me gawking at her in the doorway, so the smile was something along the lines of: “I caught you ogling me, you total prat.”

EDIT. Rachel attended the “Billy Elliot The Musical” Broadway Opening Night in New York yesterday. We will start collecting some pictures and then post them with a new update so stay tuned.

Roque just sent me the following news on Rachels upcoming project “Dirt Music”. We found two sources for the news.

Even then, Noyce has two other films he’s looking to do after “Salt”, the thriller starring Angelina Jolie, he’s shooting early next year. They “Moral Hazard” for Spitfire Films and “Dirt Music” possibly with Russell Crowe*, through Noyce’s own Australian production company.

Prior to Heath Ledger’s death, he was scheduled to star in Aussie director Phillip Noyce’s movie Dirt Music. But since his death in January, the film has been put on hold to find a new star. According to Movehole.net, Russell Crowe is their new leading man. The film is an adaptation of Tim Winton’s novel about a couple in a loveless relationship, set in a remote Australian town. Also signed on for the film are Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz.

MoMa Benefit Gala Raises $948,000

The Film Benefit gala at The Museum of Modern Art, which honored the award-winning work of director, producer, and screenwriter Baz Luhrmann, raised $948,000 for the Museum’s collection of film. Hugh Jackman served as Honorary Chair of the event; co-chairs were Jay Fielden, editor of Men’s Vogue; Antoine Arnault, Director of Communications at Louis Vuitton; Marie-Josée Kravis, President of the Museum’s Board of Trustees; and Jerry I. Speyer, Chairman of the Museum’s Board of Trustees.

The event was made possible with the major support of Men’s Vogue and Louis Vuitton, and will raise funds to ensure that great works of cinema continue to join the collection of The Museum of Modern Art.

In addition to a cocktail reception and dinner, the evening included a tribute to Mr. Luhrmann by Mrs. Kravis and Mr. Jackman, recognizing Mr. Luhrmann as a groundbreaking director of such films as Strictly Ballroom (1992), Romeo + Juliet (1996), and Moulin Rouge! (2001). The event’s 300 guests were treated to a special presentation made especially for this event by Mr. Luhrmann that included clips from his next feature film, Australia, which stars Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, and opens on November 26.

The Museum of Modern Art presented Mr. Luhrmann with a framed, original film still from The Wizard of Oz—Luhrmann’s favorite film in MoMA’s collection. The Museum also announced the acquisition of Luhrmann’s complete cinematic works for its film collection; as an artist in the collection Luhrmann also received a lifetime membership to the Museum.

The gala dinner in the Museum’s Donald B. and Catherine C. Marron Atrium featured a distinctly Australian theme in décor and menu. Elton John entertained the benefit’s guests with “Your Song” and “The Drover,” his new song from the movie Australia.
